Emergency Care Available by Appointment Only
After forced closure due to Stage 4 restrictions on Wednesday night, The DHHS has provided advice that Chiropractors may provide care however it is NOT business as usual.
Medical referral is no longer a requirement but any care is heavily restricted to emergency only.
As a health professional, we are required to exercise sound professional judgment when considering whether to provide face-to-face care to patients in areas under stage 4 restrictions whereby, without immediate treatment, would result in a significant change or deterioration in the patient’s functional independence, necessitating escalation of care
The DHHS has provided the following examples of when it is appropriate to provide ‘essential’ or ‘urgent’ care:
To avoid a requirement for specialist input/review.
To avoid an increase in care needs and/or the need for alternate accommodation.
To avoid a hospital admission or emergency department presentation.
In summary, our doors are closed but we are available by appointment only to those who meet the above criteria.
Our online booking system has been disabled, but we are contactable by phone 9857 8807.
Continuation of routine non-urgent face-to-face care is in breach of stage 4 restrictions under Victoria’s current State of Disaster. These restrictions are in place to save and protect the lives of all Victorians by restricting all non-essential movement across the state. We all need to do our part.
